Vodafone becomes first NZ business to gain Advanced Specialisation in Calling for Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Gold Partner, Vodafone NZ, strengthens offering to help businesses make calls directly from Teams and facilitate free-range working

Vodafone New Zealand is the first partner in Aotearoa to achieve Advanced Specialisation for Calling in Microsoft Teams, displaying their extensive expertise in deploying and managing Voice Solutions in Microsoft 365.

As more businesses rely on online productivity and collaboration tools to facilitate remote and free-range working, Vodafone is proud to deliver this modern voice solution including phone system capabilities to combine unified communication and teamwork seamlessly.

Head of ICT Practices at Vodafone, Glenn Johnstone says, “Along with our Gold Competency in several key areas, this advanced specialisation further differentiates Vodafone’s capabilities and affirms our leadership position in calling. This competency cements the success and popularity of the Vodafone Teams Connect solution, and our ICT practice continues to excel in maximising our customers’ Microsoft investments.”

In June, the Vodafone Teams Connect solution for Microsoft Teams surpassed 30,000 business users in Aotearoa connecting via high definition calling to landlines and mobiles, making it easier than ever for businesses to enable their employees to work from almost anywhere.

Microsoft NZ MD Vanessa Sorenson says that this achievement is a result of the Vodafone team building their expertise and customer base over a period of time. “Vodafone has a proven track record in top-quality calling solutions, and now it’s winning an equally strong reputation for its cloud and managed device solutions that are really creating value for customers. Achieving this Advanced Specialisation simply underlines the calibre of Vodafone’s services and gives its customers trust that they’ll continue to receive end-to-end support from Microsoft-certified professionals on the Vodafone team.”

In a post-Covid world, staff are increasingly empowered to choose a working environment that works wherever they are connected. Setting up teams to work remotely through cloud-based solutions helps improve business efficiency and can also deliver savings on legacy hardware and maintenance.

As a leading telecommunications provider, Vodafone can assist with unique features to improve Business Continuity Planning. Vodafone’s customer portal allows businesses to redirect calls to alternative destinations (such as mobiles) and add new numbers quickly. Three businesses that have benefitted from Vodafone Teams Connect include BNZ, Whanganui DHB and the Waipā District Council.

There are a number of other Advanced Specialisations that the Vodafone ICT Practice are working towards, and with their fast-developing Microsoft Security expertise they continue to prove their leadership in this area.

Businesses can test out the solution under a paid 28-day proof of value trial, providing the opportunity to validate the functionality and benefits of using calling via Microsoft Teams in their own environment.
