Vodafone calls on rural Kiwis to check their coverage

MEDIA RELEASE - Thousands of rural Kiwis are within reach of better broadband and Vodafone is on a mission to end their ‘buffering blues’ at this year’s Fieldays.

The company is challenging visitors to use its brand new interactive coverage wall to see if they can get a faster and more reliable broadband connection where they live.

In addition to super-fast wireless broadband, Vodafone has a range of coverage solutions on display to help rural New Zealanders improve their connection to the world.

Vodafone’s Consumer Director Matt Williams says, “With the first Rural Broadband Initiative now complete thousands of rural Kiwis can stream video content, download big files and run their businesses from home without having to struggle with frustrating broadband.

“This is a fantastic outcome for rural communities however we know there are still many Kiwis yet to upgrade to a better service. Our goal at this year’s Fieldays is to find them and help them make the life-changing switch to super-fast speeds,” Matt said.

Vodafone’s coverage wall solutions include everything from 4G small cells to drive wireless broadband coverage deep into hard to reach places, to Sure Signal devices that connect to your modem and boost mobile coverage around the home.

And for rural businesses keen to take some bold first steps into the captivating world of ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) technology, Vodafone’s team IoT experts will be on hand to walk through some ideas for getting started.

“New Zealand is on the cusp of an Internet of Things revolution where everything that can be connected to the internet using sensors and other communications technology, will be connected. Our primary industries are at the heart of this exciting opportunity and we welcome farmers and producers from all corners to talk to our experts about the future of IoT, and what it means for them,” said Matt.

Vodafone’s long standing involvement in Fieldays is part of its ongoing commitment to taking mobile and wireless broadband services further and faster for rural New Zealand.

To make sure you don’t miss a thing, download the Fieldays app to pin your car’s location, get an easy-to-use map, check Vodafone wifi and charging stations, and plan your must-sees.
