New Zealand Government endorses Vodafone as an official supplier of telecommunications services

MEDIA RELEASE - Vodafone has won a significant endorsement from the New Zealand Government, now named an official supplier in telecommunications services.

For over 18 months Vodafone has worked on a suite of innovative telecommunications services designed to enable government agencies to better engage with an increasingly digital public.

Vodafone’s Ready Government proposition offers a range of standardised, “as a service” solutions across mobile communications, site connectivity, contact centre operations and service aggregation.

Vodafone CEO Russell Stanners says, “Vodafone Ready Government presents a compelling suite of solutions that are scalable to suit all government agencies, irrespective of size.

“We live in a world where continuous change is normal and technology is critical to achieving business outcomes. Ready Government will help government agencies better serve their communities by allowing them to interact easily and securely in a digital environment.”

Vodafone is a member of the government’s new Telecommunications as a Service (TaaS) panel, designed to provide a range of cross-government telecommunications services sourced from a competitive, innovative market which are easy for agencies to access, and assist them to provide better customer services.

The TaaS panel is administered by the Government Chief Information Officer at the Department of Internal Affairs, and reflects the goals of the Government ICT Strategy and Action Plan.

Russell says, “Vodafone Ready Government aims to ensure government agencies are working effectively today connecting people, places and things - while preparing for tomorrow.

“We have a strong track record working with governments around the world and in New Zealand. Whether we’re working with large ministries or local councils, the goal is always to get people working at their best by empowering them to be confidently connected.

“Vodafone is a total communications company focused on delivering sustainable benefits to people and businesses across the globe and we look forward to presenting this expertise to government agencies to help them achieve their operational objectives,” he says.

Vodafone Ready Government will be available through the Government’s TaaS service catalogue.
