One New Zealand Stadium has only recently opened its doors, but the new Christchurch venue is already turning heads well beyond New Zealand.
The stadium has been included in a list of seven of the world’s most beautiful stadiums, putting Christchurch’s newest landmark alongside some of the most striking sporting venues around the globe.
For One New Zealand, the recognition is another proud moment for a venue that was created to bring people together and give Christchurch a world-class home for sport, entertainment and major events.
One New Zealand Head of Brand Experience Susannah Winger says the recognition is something Christchurch - and New Zealand - can be proud of.
“We knew One NZ Stadium was going to be something pretty special, but seeing it recognised alongside some of the world’s most beautiful stadiums is fantastic.
What makes it even better is seeing the stadium full. The architecture is impressive, but it really comes alive when thousands of people are inside it sharing an experience together."

The recognition follows an exciting opening chapter for One NZ Stadium, which has quickly become a new focal point for major sporting and entertainment experiences in Christchurch.
Its distinctive covered design means fans can enjoy events year-round, while its central city location puts the venue at the heart of Christchurch’s continued transformation.
For One New Zealand, its partnership with the stadium is about more than having its name above the door. It is an opportunity to help create a place where New Zealanders can connect through the moments that matter – from major sporting clashes to concerts and community events.
Winger says the global recognition is a great start, but the most important measure of the stadium’s success will be the memories created inside it.
“Being called one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world is a pretty good accolade. But ultimately, we want One NZ Stadium to be known as one of the best places in New Zealand to experience something unforgettable.
