Sharina Nisha promoted to Chief Technology Officer, Kieran Byrne to become Chief Financial Officer and Sonia Fernandes appointed as Chief People Officer

Auckland – Tuesday 11 August 2026: One NZ has today announced changes to its Executive team as Nick Judd prepares to become Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 31 August.

This includes two internal Executive moves, with Kieran Byrne to become Chief Financial Officer and Sharina Nisha promoted to Chief Technology Officer, plus the appointment of experienced leader Sonia Fernandes as Chief People Officer.

Kieran is currently Chief Technology Officer and brings a unique combination of commercial, financial, strategic and operational leadership, having held senior leadership roles across Strategy, Transformation and Technology. In his new role, the Infrastructure Partners wholesale function will continue to be part of Kieran’s expanded portfolio.

Sharina is currently GM Business Transformation with more than 30 years’ experience across telecommunications technology. She has led many of One NZ’s most significant technology initiatives, including most recently its simplification programme (T-One), the launch of One NZ Satellite, and the company’s AI implementation.

Sonia Fernandes will join One NZ as Chief People Officer at the end of August. She brings more than 20 years’ experience leading people and organisational transformation across technology, consulting, media and professional services. Having worked across New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Europe, the United States and India, Sonia brings significant international experience, a strong commercial mindset and a proven track record of building organisational capability and leading large-scale transformation.

Incoming One NZ CEO, Nick Judd, said: “These appointments demonstrate the continuity in our strategy, while also adding fresh perspectives to our Executive team. Promoting from within reflects the strength of our leadership pipeline, and bringing Sonia into the business adds valuable new experience and thinking.”

“I'm looking forward to welcoming Sonia to One NZ and seeing Kieran and Sharina step into new roles that are pivotal to the long-term success of our business.”
