One NZ signs commercial agreement with Vodafone API Hub to accelerate global network API innovation

One NZ today announced a commercial agreement with Vodafone marking a significant step forward to accelerate the adoption of Network Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and unlock new digital innovation opportunities for New Zealand businesses.

Murray Osborne, General Manager – Infrastructure Partners, One NZ, said: “This agreement helps us to unlock the full value of our network through globally standardised APIs. By working with Vodafone and industry partners, we are enabling New Zealand businesses to access more secure, interoperable network capabilities that enhance digital trust, improve customer experiences, and create new opportunities for innovation and growth.”

Network APIs enable developers and enterprises to easily access, use and pay for advanced mobile network capabilities. Through its agreement with Vodafone, One NZ will help bring these global capabilities to New Zealand businesses. This includes APIs aligned to GSMA Open Gateway and CAMARA standards, supporting use cases such as real-time anti-fraud verification, device status checks, secure authentication, and enhanced digital identity solutions.

By simplifying access to advanced network functionality, the partnership opens new frontiers in app development across sectors including financial services, media, e-commerce and digital platforms. Developers will be able to integrate capabilities such as number verification, SIM swap detection, and network-based authentication to improve security, help to tackle fraud and deliver smoother customer experiences.

One NZ is unlocking network intelligence as a trusted digital layer aimed at enhancing security, customer experience, and global interoperability. Through the Vodafone Group commercial agreement, One NZ seeks to deliver a robust, privacy-centric authentication capability that strengthens protection while improving customer satisfaction for its customers.

Johanna Wood, Vodafone’s Director of Network APIs, said: “As Network APIs reach more developers, users’ mobile experiences become safer. Though our partnership with One NZ, we will extend these resources to the New Zealand market, giving developers what they need to help businesses combat fraud and provide enhanced digital experiences for their customers.”
