One NZ makes CFO and Enterprise Director appointments

Nick Judd and Mike Purchase join the One NZ executive team.

One New Zealand has announced two key appointments to its executive team with Nick Judd taking up the Chief Financial Officer role and Mike Purchase confirmed as Enterprise Director.

“We undertook a global search for these roles and I’m proud to appoint two passionate kiwis who are the best at what they do. The calibre of leaders that we have in New Zealand makes me hugely optimistic about our country’s future,” says One NZ CEO Jason Paris.

“One NZ has been going from strength-to-strength and Nick and Mike will play key roles in helping us to continue to deliver the safest, smartest and simplest connectivity, advice and service for our customers.”

Nick Judd is joining One NZ as CFO after a three-year stint as CFO of Tourism Holdings. Prior to that he spent over 15 years at Air New Zealand in various roles culminating as its Chief Strategy, Networks and Alliances Officer. Judd is also a chartered accountant and will be taking up the role at One NZ in early 2024.

“Nick brings an incredible wealth of experience to One NZ. Telecommunications is a fast-evolving sector and his background in financial management, leadership, strategy and driving commercial outcomes will be of huge benefit to the business,” says Paris.

“I’m really looking forward to a new challenge in a different sector. I’ve admired the transformation One NZ has been on in the past few years, both in terms of its rebrand, but also the boldness it has shown in its technology, customer service and commercial strategies. The business is delivering excellent momentum in market under full local ownership by Infratil and I’m excited by the opportunities ahead,” says Judd.

Mike Purchase is an internal promotion to Enterprise Director after serving in the interim role for several months. His experience in One NZ’s Enterprise division includes managing its key large business and government customer accounts over the past seven years.

“We’re building New Zealand’s safest and most resilient network and becoming the technology partner of choice for this country’s largest private and public sector entities. Mike brings a wealth of experience helping our enterprise customers integrate the latest tech solutions to stay connected and protected,” says Paris.

“I love the team here at One NZ and look forward to continuing working alongside them to support our customers with cutting-edge technology solutions. I’m also focused on developing the suite of enterprise connectivity products we have in market and building more capacity into our adjacent segments, as well as building on our partnerships with DEFEND, Palo Alto Networks, Microsoft, Google, Cisco and others,” says Purchase.

One NZ maintains almost three million connections with consumer, business, public sector and wholesale customers throughout New Zealand. It is one of the country’s leading communications and connectivity companies providing the latest mobile, broadband and technology products and services to customers across the country.
