One New Zealand is ready for Big Gay Out

One NZ is pleased to be popping up at Big Gay Out on March 12th, in partnership with the Burnett Foundation

On Sunday March 12th, Big Gay Out is back at Coyle Park after several years of cancellations to protect the community from the Covid-19 pandemic. We’re super excited to be back at the festival, supporting our Rainbow Whānau and presenting the One New Zealand brand for the first time at BGO.

We’ll have a bunch of our people on the ground manning our One NZ ball pit, with special guest host, internationally renowned drag superstar Anita Wigl'it roaming the space and entertaining the crowds as they come through. Check us out for all the swag you could ever need and some stunning photo ops for you and your crew.

It wouldn’t be a One NZ activation without bringing you our award-winning network so jump on the free One NZ Wifi so you can stay in touch with your friends and whanau in and outside of the festival.

Dane McIndoe, Procurement CoE Lead at One NZ, who also leads our Rainbow Whānau employee network, is hyped to be back at Big Gay Out. “Big Gay Out is a celebration of all the best parts of our rainbow community and being able to live the One NZ kaupapa for the first time at this festival is super exciting. There’s a lot of abhorrent legislation impacting the LGBTQI+ community internationally right now and it is events like these that remind the world that queer people are here to stay and we deserve to be treated the same as everybody else.”

Joe Goddard, One NZ’s Director of Experience and Commercial, says it’s important for corporates to throw their support behind these types of events. “We live in a world where large corporates need to stand for something and here at One NZ, we love our rainbow community. Diversity is something that deserves to be celebrated and while there’s still work to be done, we’re proud to be involved in building a better Aotearoa for our rangatahi to grow up in.”
