No-cost giving is ideal for those feeling the pinch this silly season

One Good Kiwi gives you the opportunity to do good in your community without breaking the bank

Welcome to the November 2022 One Good Kiwi Roundup, where we share the charities launching on the app in December and the charities which received the most tokens and therefore the largest donation in November. If you don’t already know, One Good Kiwi is a mobile and web app which features ten charities each month and gives regular New Zealanders the opportunity to vote on which charity receives the biggest share of Vodafone cash each month.

We know we’re all feeling the pinch as the cost of living is on the rise, but during the holiday season we also want to do good for our fellow New Zealanders. For those who can’t afford to give this December, One Good Kiwi is a great way to score some extra brownie points with Santa while helping rangatahi across the motu. Our recent survey showed that 70% of New Zealanders couldn’t donate to charity due to financial concerns so One Good Kiwi is the perfect way to help out our most vulnerable without having to scrimp and save.

The ten charities featured on One Good Kiwi for December are;

  • Youthline – Supporting young people with 24/7 mental health support.
  • Billy Graham Youth Foundation – Supporting and championing young people through the sport of boxing.
  • Code Club Aotearoa – Helping to give every Kiwi kid the opportunity to learn to code with the hopes of building a better future.
  • Lifewise Aotearoa – Giving rangatahi a home, celebration and aroha this Christmas.
  • Crescendo Trust – Using the power of music to help rangatahi to create positive future.
  • Recreate – Creating life changing experiences for young people with disabilities.
  • South Seas Bubblegum – Supporting and increasing the capability of Māori and Pacific youth through learning experiences.
  • Kiwi Christmas Books – Collecting books to gift to Kiwi kids who would otherwise go without at Christmas.
  • City Missions – Helping communities doing it tough across Aotearoa with food, gifts and social work this Christmas.
  • Shift – Creating a future to help young people who identify as a women flourish in Aotearoa.

We’re also super excited to announce that VOYCE Whakarongo Mai will receive $30,970 after our 33% of One Good Kiwi users swiped tokens their way. VOYCE Whakarongo Mai does amazing work advocating for children in foster care, uplifting their voices within the system. We want to give a big thank you to all of the One Good Kiwi users who got involved, this donation will have a material impact on the lives of our rangatahi, especially this close to Christmas.
