Free Social Data for a year: Vodafone offers more value on Prepay plans

For less than the price of three flat white coffees, Vodafone is offering MyFlex prepay plans with free data use on some of Kiwis’ favourite social media apps

Socially active Kiwis can #ShareMore with free data use on some of their favourite social media apps for a year, as Vodafone NZ offers MyFlex Prepay customers even more value.

Vodafone expects Free Social Data to be particularly popular with younger consumers, explains David Redmore, acting Commercial Director. “Social media use continues to skyrocket, particularly among Gen Z, and we wanted to provide Vodafone MyFlex Prepay customers certainty that they can share and browse content on some of their favourite apps with less worries about their data limit.

“We understand social media is how many young Kiwis maintain social connections, so we’ve rejigged our MyFlex Prepay plans to offer our customers even more value. A mobile connection with free data on some of NZ’s most popular social media apps costs less than the price of three flat whites, which we think is a pretty awesome deal.”

Free data use applies to TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and Pinterest apps, and is automatically applied for a year to new customers who join MyFlex Prepay and purchase a plan before 31 October 2021. It can also be redeemed by existing MyFlex customers via the latest version of the My Vodafone app in the same time period.

MyFlex Prepay plans last 28 days and are now available from just $13 with 250MB of data, 100 mins and 100 TXTs. Consumers looking for additional value can get 1GB of data, 100 mins and Unlimited TXTs for $15 a month.

David adds: “We’ve developed MyFlex Prepay to let consumers pick the data, mins and TXTs that fit their needs. Offering affordable connectivity solutions and increasing digital inclusion in Aotearoa is a key focus at Vodafone. We’re hoping these new plans will enable more Kiwis to choose the plan that suits them for key everyday tasks, as well as the freedom to use some of their favourite social media apps to stay connected to whānau and friends.”

Some functions will still use plan data. For more information, please visit www.vodafone.co.nz/freesocialdata
