One NZ completes 26 Cellsite upgrades and 21 new 5G expansions in August

Network investment continues towards a better-connected New Zealand

As part of its commitment to building a better-connected Aotearoa, One NZ completed work on 26 cellsites in August — including 8 new builds — and expanded 5G coverage to 21 locations across the country.

This brings the year-to-date total to 166 new and upgraded cellsites, in addition to 136 locations with extended 5G coverage, in addition to One NZ Satellite TXT.

Thaigan Govender, One NZ GM Mobile Access Network, says “Knowing how important it is for Kiwis to stay connected — whether that’s keeping in touch with whānau, streaming videos, playing online games, or finishing work on the go — One NZ is investing millions into its next-generation mobile network to improve coverage and connectivity across New Zealand.

“We’re focused on strengthening both 4G and 5G, so people can enjoy fast, stable, and reliable connections wherever they are.”

For those looking to get better coverage where they live, work or play, check out One Pin, where anyone can ‘drop a pin’ in places they experience dropped calls, slow speeds, or no connectivity at all. The more pins dropped in an area, the more One NZ can understand the priority for improvements.
